Reading at Oakwood

We use a variety of book schemes in school, so that the children

have a range of books to use and choose from, including fiction and non-fiction.

 

The books are levelled into colour book bands to ensure a progression through the schemes in terms of new ideas, vocabulary and reading strategies.

Year 2 use Oxford Reading Tree

 

Year 1 use Dandelion launchers and Dandelion readers from Phonics Books and Rigby Star and Bug Club phonics from Pearson.

 

Reception uses Dandelion launchers and Dandelion readers from Phonics Books .
